Midnight

I was inspired to do this tempera painting of a wolf howling at the moon by a dream catcher I have hanging in my house. The wolf on the dream catcher is very similar to the one I painted. I didn't want a plain black sky so I blended some shades of purple and blue in with the black. For the stars, I dipped a toothpick in white paint to get the effect that I wanted.

Rainbow Hair

For this project, I had to demonstrate that I had knowledge of the color wheel and which colors blended into other colors. I decided to do a girl with rainbow hair because my hair has been all of these colors at some point and I took inspiration from that.

Nature and Industry

For my scratch board project, I was inspired by both industrial elements and nature elements, so I decided to try to fuse the two together somehow. I made a gear/cog and in the middle is a top view of a severed tree trunk with the tree roots stretching to the edges of the gear/cog. I added a crescent moon and a star in the middle to further emphasize the nature elements I was inspired by. In the background I did a simple brick wall because it's one of my favorite things to fill in negative space with.

My Dad

I drew this portrait of my dad using a certain graph method which includes drawing a half inch graph on the picture you want to draw, and an inch graph on a different piece of paper. I was told to draw someone that I admire, so I chose my dad because he's always been an extremely supportive person in my life and he inspires me to work towards my goals and reach my full potential.

Open Your Mind Before Your Mouth

For my tempera batik painting, I took inspiration from one of my favorite bands called Motionless In White. I painted one of the people from their music video for their song "570" and I painted some of my favorite lyrics from their song "Immaculate Misconception".

Music Room

As I studied one point perspective, I took inspiration from my bedroom at home. My room is covered in band posters, so I decided to draw a room similar to mine and try to grasp the concept of drawing letters using one point perspective as well.
